   As expected with what I call “squeezy undergarments” this piece has its tight spots. I was curious about the “booty lifting” feature, and as it turns out, it’s just a less-tight part of the garment. So apparently, the fat is meant to squish out of the tighter parts into the less-tight parts and therefore help counteract the effects of gravity and make your shape appear less saggy. In practice, I suppose it did that, but then gravity did its job on that less-tight part, and I don’t think the result was all that much better.

   Gimmick aside, though, there are definitely pluses with this garment. There is a long zipper in the crotch so you don’t have to struggle out of this thing to go to the bathroom. There are adjustable hooks all down the front to help you get just the right amount of squeeziness (that would be the technical term) and still be able to get in and out of it.

   At times when I’ve felt a little bloated or having some back pain, this shapewear helped pull in my tummy and keep me better centered. However, it’s not all that smooth in the front, so if your plan was to wear this under a clingy outfit, you may not like the result. Also, I didn’t really find that it made a difference in size. So, for example, you wouldn’t fit into something wearing this that you didn’t fit into without it. Any squeezing effect is offset by the thickness of the garment, so you don’t really get a size improvement overall. But you do get a little better tummy control than, say, pantyhose might give you, and that can help with posture and back issues, so it may be a win in that regard. I wouldn’t get it for the rear, though. I think if your experience with gravity means you need a lift in that area, this really isn’t the way to get it.
